Who We Are
Square Peg Community Foundation, Inc. is a charitable nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with special needs and the families who support them. We exist to bridge the gap between what individuals need to thrive and what insurance, public funding and traditional systems often fail to provide.
Through access to essential adaptive equipment, AAC tools, family and therapist education, inclusive community programs and collaborating with community partners we help individuals communicate, connect, and reach their fullest potential and independence. Our work is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and family-centered care. We are driven by the belief that every individual deserves meaningful opportunities to grow and be included.
Lending Locker
Designed to increase access to communication and independence-building tools for individuals with disabilities. Families and therapists will be able to borrow AAC devices, low- and light-tech communication tools, and adaptive equipment such as standers and adapted bicycles while pursuing long-term solutions through schools, insurance, or other funding sources.
Equipment Fund
The Rehabilitative Equipment Fund will support individuals who cannot access essential communication or adaptive equipment through traditional funding sources. This fund will provide financial assistance to help individuals obtain critical tools that support communication, independence, mobility, and participation in daily life.
Resource Navigation
The Parent Resource Navigation Program is designed to help families understand services, funding options, and available support systems. Navigators provide guidance so families can more easily access the equipment, services, and community resources they need.
Education
Educational programs for families and professionals focused on communication, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment. Trainings range from introductory workshops to advanced certification classes designed to increase confidence and practical skills in supporting individuals with disabilities.
Community Events
We host community events and educational opportunities that bring together families, professionals, and individuals with lived experience. These programs are designed to build connection, share knowledge, and increase access to resources that support communication and independence.
Collaboration
Collaboration with schools, therapy providers, community organizations, and healthcare professionals to expand access to communication tools, adaptive equipment, and educational resources. Through these partnerships, we work together to remove barriers, share expertise, and ensure individuals with disabilities have greater opportunities to communicate, participate, and thrive in their communities.
